Wat's On
Our popular Wat's On programme of free, fun and challenging activities run during the Easter and Summer Holidays.
We aim to keep children safe at the same time as providing challenges through free open access multi skilled activities, adventurous and risky play and creative sessions. The activities will be held across Watford, in our parks, open spaces and some indoor locations as well.
These are ‘open access’ activities which are supervised while the children and young people are participating in the activities. However they cannot be confined to the grounds or be prevented from coming and going as they please, so do bear this in mind if you are dropping your children off to return later.
Supervision
All sessions are supervised during the advertised times and will be delivered by trained, qualified or experienced coaches, staff, artists and suppliers.
Appropriate clothing
Play is not always clean and dry, so please ensure that children wear something suitable for the weather conditions or activities attended, preferably clothes that will not cause upset to the children and young people if they get dirty or torn.
Risky play
We encourage children and young people to take appropriate risks in play. Whether this is climbing a tree, participating in sports, woodland craft and fire play or using hand tools such as hammers and nails, we encourage children and young people to assess how much risk is involved in a situation for them and make an informed decision whilst they are in a supervised environment. This helps them understand risk for the future and empowers them to make their own decisions.
Please bring drinks and a snack if required.
Due to the current government guidelines we will be providing free activities for 30 children per indoor session and unlimited children for outdoor parks and woodlands of Watford.
All activities must be pre booked.
